Personal financial statements are a representation of your financial status at a given point in time. For most individuals, a Statement of Net Worth is a relatively simple document to prepare. Use this vital first step as a tool when setting goals and developing an investment strategy.

A Statement of Net Worth shows your assets and liabilities. The difference between the two, hopefully positive, is your net worth.

  • Cash – all checking, savings, money market accounts, etc.
  • Investments – stocks, bonds, retirement funds, etc.
  • Real Estate – equity in your home, etc.
  • Vehicles – automobiles, boat, etc.
  • Miscellaneous Assets – life insurance policies, etc.
  • Mortgage
  • Credit Card Debt
  • Other Debt/Bills Payable
  • Unpaid Estimate of Taxes

  • The amount that your total assets exceed your total liabilities is your net worth.
